On Wednesday 30 September 2015, at the Hilton Hotel, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Dr Jim Watterson and the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Aasha Murthy, attended the Australian Council for Educational Leaders 2015 National Conference, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.
Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received for lunch, the Prime Minister, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.
At the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Ma Zhaoxu and Madame Yu Xiaoming, attended a traditional Chinese musical performance.
On Tuesday 29 September 2015, in far North Queensland, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) as Commander-in-Chief and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Commander 1st Division / Deployable Joint Headquarters, Major General Stuart Smith AO DSC, visited HMAS Canberra to observe Exercise SEA RAIDER and met with ship’s company and embarked forces.
On Friday 25 September 2015, at Holland Park, Brisbane, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Vice President, Queensland Meals on Wheels, Mr David Trigg, visited the Holland Park and District Meals on Wheels facility and met with volunteers and staff.
On Wednesday 23 September 2015, at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Director, Dr Nigel Taylor, attended an Orchid Naming Ceremony at which an orchid was named in their honour: Dendrobium Peter Lynne Cosgrove, before viewing the National Orchid Garden and Prisoner of War steps.
At the Australian International School, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Australian International School, Mr Andre Casson, participated in a ground-breaking ceremony to mark the laying of the foundation stone of the Early Learning Centre currently under construction.
At Clementi, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Minister S. Iswaran, visited the ‘50 Bridges’ 50th wall art installation, at which the Governor-General applied the finishing strokes of paint on the mural.
On Tuesday 22 September 2015, at Kranji Cemetery, Singapore, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove lay a wreath at the Kranji War Memorial, honouring the men and women who died during World War II.
Afterwards, at Sembawang Air Base, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Singapore Chief of Air Force, Major General Hoo Cher Mou, visited 126 Squadron and undertook a viewing of Singapore by helicopter.
At Kranji Cemetery, Singapore, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove lay a wreath at the Kranji War Memorial, honouring the men and women who died during World War II.
