State Visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar

At the President’s Office, Nay Pyi Taw, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce, as guests of the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, His Excellency U Thein Sein and Daw Khin Khin Win, attended a ceremonial welcome.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with the President.

Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the President and Daw Khin Khin Win, attended a State Lunch hosted in their honour.

On Tuesday 5 November 2013, at the President’s Office, Nay Pyi Taw, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, His Excellency U Thein Sein and Daw Khin Khin Win, attended a ceremonial welcome.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with the President.

Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the President and Daw Khin Khin Win, attended a State Lunch hosted in their honour.

State Visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar

On Monday 4 November 2013, following the departure of the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO to undertake a State Visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of South Australia, His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR.

Afterwards, at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport, Myanmar, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a welcome ceremony to commence their State Visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Community reception

On Sunday 3 November 2013, at Cable Beach, Broome, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a reception for representatives from local businesses, volunteer organisations, community groups, and residents of the Broome Shire.

Return of Writs

On Friday 1 November 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO received from the Australian Electoral Commission the Writs for the election of Members of the House of Representatives from Queensland.

Call by the Prime Minister

On Wednesday 30 October 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO received the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP.

Afterwards, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General, was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency the Honourable Anote Tong MP, by Brigadier Allan Murray CSM ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
