President Thein Sein received a 21-gun and national salute before inspecting Australia’s Federation Guard and the Royal Military College Band. Ms Bryce also introduced President Thein Sein to ACT Scout representatives at the ceremony.
Later, the Governor-General held formal talks with the President and hosted a lunch in honour of his State Visit to Australia.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Ms Bronte Moules.
Later, the Governor-General received the Executive Director of the Menzies Research Centre, Dr Don Markwell.
The Governor-General hosted twenty delegates of the inaugural Australian Arab Women’s Leaders’ Dialogue at Government House, Canberra.
The women leaders discussed the role of women in building and sustaining democratic practice in the Middle East and Australia.
On Saturday 16 March 2013, at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glyn Davis AC, attended a degree conferral ceremony, at which the Governor-General was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate and delivered the occasional address.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a lunch hosted in their honour by the Vice-Chancellor.
The Governor-General was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Laws during a graduation ceremony at the University of Melbourne.
Ms Bryce delivered the Occasional Address and encouraged the graduating students to “be bold” and to take up all opportunities presented to them.
On Friday 15 March 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, received the Australian (non-resident) High Commissioner to the Republic of Mozambique, Mr Graeme Wilson.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a Ceremonial Welcome for the President of the Republic of Mozambique, His Excellency Armando Emilio Guebuza, and Madam Maria da Luz Dai Guebuza.

Over 50 vintage motor vehicles were on show as the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce hosted participants of the 2013 National Rally for 1 and 2 Cylinder Cars and Bikes at Government House, Canberra.
The event also recognised the 50th anniversary of the Veteran and Vintage Car Club of the A.C.T. (VVCCA).
