On Wednesday 17 March 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the recipient of the Denmark RSL Youth Achievement Award, Mr Terence Smith, who was accompanied by Ms Rowena Smith and Mr Don Smith.

On Tuesday 16 March 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC met with participants of the Leadership Ballarat and Western Region program.

In the afternoon, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, the Governor-General attended the departure from Canberra of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Earlier, at the Australian National University, Canberra, the Governor-General, in recognition of International Women's Day, attended the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Women's Summit. In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Oath of Office to the newly appointed Minister for Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Water, Senator the Honourable Penny Wong; and the Minister for Environment Protection, Heritage and the Arts, the Honourable Peter Garrett AM MP.
