On Friday 9 November 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended an audience with Her Majesty The Queen, at Windsor Castle.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of His Excellency the Honourable George Brandis QC, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, attended an afternoon tea at Australia House, London.

Kabul, Afghanistan; Qargha, Afghanistan

On Wednesday 7 November, at Headquarters Resolute Support, Kabul, the Governor General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with Australian Defence Force personnel embedded at the NATO Headquarters, as guest of Rear Admiral Jaimie Hatcher AM RAN, Commander JTF633.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with Australian Defence Force mentor training members of the Afghan National Army at Camp Qargha, as guest of Brigadier Jane Spalding, Commander Australian Task Group Afghanistan.

Taji, Iraq; Baghdad, Iraq; Kabul, Afghanistan

On Tuesday 6 November 2018, at Taji Military Complex, Iraq, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with the officers and soldiers of Task Group Taji-7, as guest of Colonel Michael Say, Commanding Officer. The Governor-General viewed the racing of the Melbourne Cup with the Task Group and presented a replica trophy donated by the Victorian Racing Club.

Canberra, ACT

On Friday 2 November 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier the Governor-General met with students from St Mary’s College, SA; Richmond Christian College, NSW; Rosebury Primary School, NT, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Thursday 1 November 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Gedimianas Varvuoli as the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania. The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Ms Rasa Varvuoliene.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea reception for Legacy Widows.

On Wednesday 31 October 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Honourable Scott Morrison MP, Prime Minister of Australia.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Honourable Scott Morrison MP, Prime Minister of Australia, attended the Prime Minister’s XI versus South Africa cricket match and dinner at Manuka Oval, Manuka.

On Tuesday 30 October 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received Ms Nicola Gordon-Smith, Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Later, the Governor-General received Ms Karyn Murray, High Commissioner-designate to Tuvalu, for a pre-posting call.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a farewell lunch in honour of His Excellency Mr Chris Seed, the outgoing High Commissioner for New Zealand.

Monday 29 October 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, visited Barker College for the official opening of the Preparatory School Facilities, as guests of Mr Phillip Heath AM, Principal, Barker College.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, attended a Thanksgiving and Military Funeral Service for the life of Major General Gordon Maitland AO BOE RFD ED (Retd), at The Parish Church of Saint James, Sydney.

On Sunday 28 October 2018, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), was represented at the departure from Australia of Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, by Mr Paul Singer MVO, Acting Official Secretary to the Governor-General.
