On Thursday 12 October 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove hosted an afternoon tea for members of Soldier On.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received a video call from Carramar Primary School, WA, as part of their civics and citizenship classes.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from Morningside State School, QLD; St Eugene College, QLD; and Sheldon College, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Wednesday 11 October 2017, at Meals on Wheels South Australia (MoWSA) West Torrens Branch, Brooklyn Park, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the President of MoWSA, Mr Bill Coomans, viewed the facilities and met with staff and volunteers.

Afterwards, at the headspace Adelaide Centre, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Clinical Director, headspace Adelaide, Dr Julie Connor, participated in a tour of the centre, and met with staff and volunteers.

On Tuesday 10 October 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Pacific Lutheran College, QLD, and Sheldon College, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Monday 9 October 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the High Commissioner for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, His Excellency Mr Kazi Imtiaz Hossain.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from St Stephen’s School, WA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Saturday 7 October 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove met with members of the public during the Government House Open Day.

On Friday 6 October 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School, QLD; Queen of Apostles Catholic Primary School, QLD; and Bunbury Catholic College, WA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Thursday 5 October 2017, at Dubai International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, were farewelled from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by the Ambassador to the UAE, His Excellency Mr Arthur Spyrou.

On Wednesday 4 October 2017, at the United Arab Emirates, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Commander of Combined Joint Task Force 633, Major General John Frewen AM, received a briefing on Australian Defence Force (ADF) operations in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Afterwards, at Hamid Karzai International Airport, Kabul, the Governor-General was welcomed to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan by the Chargé d’Affaires to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mr David Geyer and received a briefing.

On Tuesday 3 October 2017, at Al Jalila Children’s Speciality Hospital, Dubai, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Princess of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Spouse of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al-Hussein, viewed the facilities and met with staff and patients.

On Monday 2 October 2017, at the Victorian International School, Sharjah, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Executive Principal, Mr Dean Pyrah, viewed the facilities, watched a student performance and met with staff and students.

In the afternoon, at Emirates Towers, Dubai, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Airline and Group, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
