On Friday 8 April 2016, at Riverboat Dock, Echuca, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Moama RSL Club, Mr Peter Gough, officially launched the newly refurbished M.V. Mary Ann on the Murray River.

Afterwards, at the Port of Echuca, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the CEO, Echuca Moama District Tourism, Mr Tom Smith, visited the Discovery Centre and the historic Echuca Wharf precinct.
