On Friday 4 March 2016, at the Australian Embassy, Dili, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with the Australian Ambassador to Timor-Leste, His Excellency Mr Peter Doyle.

Afterwards, at Sparrow Force House, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a morning tea with locally engaged staff from the Australian Embassy, the Defence Cooperation Program and the Police Cooperation Program.

On Thursday 3 March 2016, at the Presidential Palace, Dili, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, His Excellency Taur Matan Ruak, and Her Excellency First Lady Dr Isabel da Costa Ferreira, attended a ceremonial welcome.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with the President of Timor-Leste.

Later, Lady Cosgrove, as guest of the First Lady, visited the Casa da Cidadania de Dili school for vulnerable children.

Afterwards, at the Royal Darwin Hospital Campus, Tiwi, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Menzies Foundation, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director, Professor Alan Cass, visited the Menzies School of Health Research.
