On Monday 31 October 2016, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Acting Chairman, Mr Robert Charley AO, attended a Feather Duster Club lunch.

On Saturday 29 October 2016, in Brisbane city, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Commander, 1st Division and Deployable Joint Force Headquarters, Major General Paul McLachlan AM CSC, attended the 8th/9th Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment’s Freedom of Entry Parade to mark the 43rd anniversary of the amalgamation of 8th and 9th Battalions.
