Opening of ANZAC Walk and ANZAC Place in Emerald; Visit to the Fire Protection Association; Visit to First Voice

On Wednesday 11 March 2015, in Emerald, Victoria, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of Emerald RSL, Mr Peter Maloney, opened the ANZAC Walk and ANZAC Place, to recognise the 32 soldiers from Emerald Township and its surrounding Districts who died during World War I.

Commonwealth Day Multi-Faith Celebration

On Monday 9 March 2015, at the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, Barton, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Executive Director, the Right Reverend Professor Stephen Pickard, attended a Commonwealth Day Multi-Faith Celebration, at which the Governor-General, as Patron, read Her Majesty The Queen’s Commonwealth Day message.

Visit to Ronald McDonald House; ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Australia v Sri Lanka match

On Sunday 8 March 2015, at Ronald McDonald House, Westmead, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Mr Peter Meadows, visited Ronald McDonald House at which the Governor-General, as Patron, met with staff and families.

Afterwards, at Sydney Cricket Ground, Moore Park, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Mr Ralph Waters, attended the Cricket World Cup 2015 Australia versus Sri Lanka match.

International Women’s Day lunch; Reception for the Canberra Hospital Foundation; Departure from Australia of The King and Queen of Norway

On Thursday 5 March 2015, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron of UN Women Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the International Women’s Day lunch.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron, and the Governor-General, hosted a reception for the Canberra Hospital Foundation.

Call by the Prime Minister; Dinner for State and Territory Official Secretaries

On Wednesday 4 March 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Prime Minister, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP.

Later, the Governor-General, received the Private Secretary to Her Majesty The Queen, Sir Christopher Geidt KCB KCVO OBE.

Then, the Governor-General, received the Japanese Ambassador to Australia, His Excellency Mr Yoshitaka Akimoto.

Eisenhower School morning tea; Parliamentary delegation from Fiji; Alzheimer’s Australia Consumer Summit reception

On Tuesday 3 March 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea for students from the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a Parliamentary delegation from Fiji, led by the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji, the Honourable Dr Jiko F Luveni MP.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception on the occasion of the 2015 Alzheimer’s Australia Consumer Summit 2015.

Opening of St Brigid’s Green Aged Care Community Village; Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s Opening Gala Performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony

On Friday 27 February 2015, in Maroubra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Director, Mr Howard Smith, opened the St Brigid’s Green Aged Care Community Village.

In the evening, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Mr John Conde AO, attended the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s Opening Gala Performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony.
