On Friday 28 November 2014, at Fleet Base East, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the commissioning of HMAS Canberra III.

In the evening, following the departure from Australia of the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC.

At the Exodus Foundation’s Loaves and Fishes Restaurant, Ashfield, NSW, the Governor-General, as a guest of the Reverend Bill Crews AM and Mr John Singleton AM, joined guests for a Thanksgiving Lunch.

On Thursday 27 November 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at the Ashfield Loaves and Fishes Restaurant, Sydney, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr John Singleton AM, attended an Australian Thanksgiving Lunch in support of homeless and illiterate young Australians.

Later, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception and screening for the cast of The Long Way Home.

On Wednesday 26 November 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Prime Minister, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception for the Canberra Council of Save the Children Australia.

On Tuesday 25 November 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a reception for overseas course members at the Australian Defence College.

Earlier, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron of Girl Guides Australia, received the Chief Commissioner, Ms Robinette Emonson, and Chief Executive Officer, Ms Kit McMahon.

At the Australian National Botanic Gardens, Canberra, ACT, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron of the Friends of the Gardens, officially opened the new Asteraceae Garden, dedicated to native Australian daisies.

On Monday 24 November 2014, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Police Commissioners Stand Together Against Violence on Women and Their Children event.

On Sunday 23 November 2014, at Government House, Canberra, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron, and the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), hosted a reception for the Friends of the School of Music.

At the Adaminaby Race Course, NSW, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Adaminaby Jockey Club, Mr Lynley Miners, attended the 150th Adaminaby Races, which were officially opened by the Governor-General.
