Anti-Poverty Week 2014 - At St Vincent de Paul’s Matthew Talbot Hostel, Woolloomooloo, NSW, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of St Vincent de Paul Society NSW, Mr Ray Reynolds, and the Executive Officer of the Matthew Talbot Hostel, Mr Matthew Clearly, met with staff, clients and volunteers.

On Monday 13 October 2014, at The Westin Hotel, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Australia, Professor Helen Zorbas AO, attended the Cancer Australia’s 2014 Pink Ribbon Breakfast.

Anti-Poverty Week 2014 - At Admiralty House, Sydney, NSW, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove joined organisations helping to reduce poverty and hardship, and their clients, for the launch of Anti-Poverty Week, by the Governor-General.

On Sunday 12 October 2014, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an afternoon tea to launch Anti-Poverty Week.

On Saturday 11 October 2014, at Southee Pavilion, Sydney Showgrounds, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Chief Scout, and Lady Cosgrove, as Patron of Girl Guides Australia, attended the 27th International Scout and Guide Fellowship World Conference.

Afterwards, at AllPhones Arena, Sydney Olympic Park, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer of Netball Australia, Ms Noeleen Dix, attended the Australian Diamonds versus the New Zealand Silver Ferns netball test match.

On Friday 10 October 2014, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a reception for the ADF Assistance Trust.

Afterwards, at the ABC Head Office, Ultimo, the Governor-General conducted a live in-studio interview with Mr Eddie Perfect as part of ‘The Friday Night Crack Up’, a multi-network telecast in support of a World Mental Health Day telecast.

On Thursday 9 October 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, His Excellency Mr Pedro Monzon Barata.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a Small Dining Room dinner. Guests included: Mr Brian Hewitt and Mrs Ann Hewitt; Mr Ross Sydney and Mrs Lynne Sydney; and Brigadier William Rolfe AO (Retd) and Mrs Joan Rolfe.
