On Thursday 15 May 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at St Christopher’s Cathedral, Manuka, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, attended the funeral service for the late Air Chief Marshal Sir Neville McNamara KBE AO AFC AE (Retd).

Visit to North Queensland

On Wednesday 14 May 2014, in Mossman Gorge, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Acting Chair, Mr Matthew Gibson, met with the Board of Directors of Bamanga Bubu Ngadimunku Inc.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Cape York Institute, Ms Fiona Jose, visited the Mossman Gorge Opportunity Hub and Wellbeing Centre.

Visit to North Queensland

At Apunipima Health Council, Cairns, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Office, Mr Cleveland Fagan, and Business Strategy Advisor, Ms Paula Arnol, received a brief on Indigenous health programs in Cape York.

Then, at the Cape York Institute for Policy and Leadership, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chair, Mr Noel Pearson, and Chief Executive Officer, Ms Fiona Jose, received a briefing on welfare reform programs in Cape York.
