At the Perc Tucker Regional Gallery, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Mayor of Townsville, Councillor Jenny Hill, attended a Civic Reception.

At the Family Recovery Centre, Townsville, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Mates4Mates, Mr Peter Davies CBE, and the Managing Director, Mr Chris McHugh CSC, met with staff and guests.

On Sunday 11 May 2014, in Townsville, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Mr Peter Davies CBE, and the Managing Director, Mr Chris McHugh CSC, met with staff and guests at the Mates4Mates Family Recovery Centre.

On Saturday 10 May 2014, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) was represented at the transit through Australia by the Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency Lieutenant General the Right Honourable Sir Jeremiah Mateparae GNZM, by Colonel Michael Miller RFD ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

At Albert Hall, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the Europe Day Opening Concert.

On Friday 9 May 2014, at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Bowral, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove attended the funeral service of the late Mr Paul Ramsay AO.

Afterwards, at Albert Hall, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Ambassador of the European Union, His Excellency Mr Sem Fabrizi, attended the Canberra International Music Festival, Europe Day opening concert.

On Thursday 8 May 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with members of the Australian Bravery Decorations Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Geoff Brown AO.

On Wednesday 7 May 2014, at the R.G. Casey building, Barton, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr Peter Varghese AO, met with staff and visited the Consular Crisis Centre.

On Tuesday 6 May 2014, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director, Australian War Memorial, the Honourable Dr Brendan Nelson, and the ACT Chief Nurse, Ms Veronica Croome, attended the International Nurses and Midwives Week Remembrance ceremony.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, received the Secretary, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Dr Ian Watt AO.
