At the Melbourne City Mission’s (MCM) Compass Clubhouse in Fitzroy, operated by and for adults who have experienced an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with members and staff, as guests of the MCM CEO, Reverend Ric Holland.
On Saturday 14 June 2014, at the RACV Club, Melbourne, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for members of Melbourne based patronages. On Friday 13 June 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove hosted to lunch the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Argentine Republic, His Excellency Mr Pedro Villagra Delgado; Deputy Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and High Commissioner for the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, His Excellency Mr Charles Lepani and Mrs Katherine Lepani; and Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms Sally Mansfield.
At Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General was invested as Chief Scout, by Mr Reg Williams RFD, Chief Commissioner of Scouts Australia.
On Thursday 12 June 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Ray Griggs AO CSC RAN.
Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a ceremony at which the Governor-General was invested as the Chief Scout of Australia.
At the Salvation Army Headquarters, Sydney, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal, and Lady Cosgrove met with Territorial Commander Australian Eastern Territory, Commissioner James Condon, and Territorial Commander Australian Southern Territory, Commissioner Floyd Tidd, before meeting staff at an afternoon tea.
At Kensington Public School, Sydney, the Governor-General, as a guest of the Principal, Mr Maurice Johnson, visited the Confucius Classroom and met with teachers and students.
