On Monday 17 October 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Patron, received from Women’s Plan Foundation, the Chair, Ms Alice Oppen OAM; Secretary, Mrs Elizabeth Lloyd AM; Treasurer, Mrs Helen Sheffer; and Trustees, Dr Ellie Freedman and Dr Zeny Edwards.

Later, the Governor-General received Mrs Margaret Whitlam AO and Ms Catherine Dovey.

In the evening, the Governor General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception for the Children’s Medical Research Institute.

On Saturday 15 October 2011, at the Adaminaby Snowy Scheme Museum, New South Wales, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chair of the Adaminaby Snowy Scheme Collection Committee, Mr Peter Taylor, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the museum.

Australian Foundation for Mental Health Research Youth Ambassadors; Fred Williams Exhibition

On Friday 14 October 2011, at the Centre for Mental Health Research, Australian National University, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, in recognition of Mental Health Week and as guest of the Chair of the Australian Foundation for Mental Health Research, the Honourable Margaret Reid AO, met with participants of the Youth Ambassador Program, presented certificates of appreciation and delivered an address.

Australian Year of the Farmer 2012; Male Champions of Change Research; La Boheme

On Wednesday 12 October 2011, at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended an event at which the Governor-General, as Patron, officially launched the Australian Year of the Farmer 2012.

Afterwards, at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Ms Elizabeth Broderick, attended the launch of the Male Champions of Change research report, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.

Australian Defence Force families; Quentin Bryce Doctoral Scholarships

On Tuesday 11 October 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Associate Dean, Strategic Industry Relations from the Faculty of Science, University of New South Wales, Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Pro Vice Chancellor, Faculty of Medicine, Health and Molecular Sciences, James Cook University, Professor Ian Wronski and the Chief Operations Officer, Queensland Tropical Health Alliance, Ms Elizabeth Wickham.

Muriel Matters; World Wide Fund for Nature 50th Anniversary

On Monday 10 October 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC hosted a morning tea for the Muriel Matters Society.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with the Chief Executive of the Business Council of Australia, Ms Jenny Westacott.

Later, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception for the World Wide Fund for Nature, marking their 50th Anniversary.

Jemalong Residential Village; Forbes Community Lunch; Parkes 'Opera at the Dish'

On Saturday 8 October 2011, at Jemalong Residential Village, Forbes, New South Wales, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chair of the Trustees of Catholic Healthcare, Sister Joanne Kirk, and in recognition of Palliative Care Day, met with residents, families and staff.

Later, at Wiradjuri Dreaming Centre, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce as guests of the Mayor of Forbes Shire Council, Councillor Phyllis Miller OAM, attended a lunch with representatives of Forbes' community groups.
