On Wednesday 7 December 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at Acton, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chair, Professor Chris Puplick AM, and the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Michael Loebenstein, visited the National Film and Sound Archive.

Later, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Poland and the Czech Republic, Ms Jean Dunn.

On Tuesday 6 December 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO hosted a Christmas morning tea for student representatives from Australian Capital Territory secondary schools.

On Monday 5 December 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, hosted a reception for Australian Defence Force Academy Graduands, Royal Military College Cadets and the Spitfire Association, at which the Governor-General presented the 2012 Spitfire Memorial Defence Fellowship to Dr Sarah Zhang.

On Sunday 4 December 2011, Saint David’s Cathedral, Hobart, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended the Choral Eucharist.

Afterwards, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Sprent Dabwido MP, by Commander Ted Wynberg ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Saturday 3 December 2011, at the Museum of Old and New Art, Tasmania, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a morning tea for Tasmanian industry representatives.

On Friday 2 December 2011, onboard the RSV Aurora Australis, Macquarie Wharf, Hobart, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended an investiture ceremony, at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, presented the Australian Antarctic Medal to Dr Stephen Nicol and Captain Murrary Doyle.

'Women, Leadership and Democracy in Australia' conference; Australian Command and Staff College graduation ceremony; Mawson's Huts Foundation Centenary dinner

On Thursday 1 December 2011, at the Museum of Australian Democracy, Old Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO delivered the opening address at the ‘Women, Leadership and Democracy in Australia’ conference.

On Wednesday 30 November 2011, at the Sydney Opera House, New South Wales, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended the launch of World AIDS Day 2012, at which the Governor-General, as Patron of the Pacific Friends of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, delivered an address and opened the lighting in red of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

On Tuesday 29 November 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted an afternoon tea for Ms Jean Carroll OAM.

On Monday 28 November 2011, at Loftus Public School, New South Wales, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as Patron-in-Chief and guest of the Chairman of Life Education Australia, Mr Tony Hasham AM visited a Life Education Australia van.

Afterwards, at the SH Ervin Gallery, National Trust of New South Wales, Sydney, the Governor-General attended a ‘Q’ Lunch.

Later, at Admiralty House, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received the Commander Australian Fleet, Rear Admiral Steve Gilmore AM CSC RAN and Mrs Kate Gilmore.
