On Thursday 24 March 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Honorary Project Officer of the Fraser Island Defenders Organisation, Mr John Sinclair, and Mrs Tokiko Dawson.

In the afternoon, at the University of Canberra, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the installation of the Fifth Chancellor of the University of Canberra, Dr John Mackay AM, by the Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory, Mr Jon Stanhope MLA.

Federal Executive Council; National Photographic Portrait Prize 2011 exhibition; 2011 National Schools Constitutional Convention

On Wednesday 23 March 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at the National Portrait Gallery, Parkes, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE viewed the National Photographic Portrait Prize 2011 exhibition.

In the evening, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception for delegates attending the 2011 National Schools Constitutional Convention.

Ceremonial Arrival of the President of Malta; State Dinner in honour of the President of Malta

On Monday 21 March 2011, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Ceremonial Arrival of the President of Malta, His Excellency Dr George Abela, and Mrs Margaret Abela.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received former Australian High Commissioner to Malta, Mr Jurek Juszczyk, and Mrs Malgosia Korsun-Juszczyk.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received the President of Malta and Mrs Abela.

Christchurch Earthquake Memorial Service; President of Malta

On Friday 18 March 2011, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC departed Australia on an Official Visit to New Zealand.

Earlier, in Sydney, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE hosted a lunch in honour of the President of Malta, His Excellency Dr George Abela BA LLD and Mrs Margaret Abela.

President of Malta

On Thursday 17 March 2011, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of Malta, His Excellency Dr George Abela BA LLD by Commander Theodore Wynberg ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Toowoomba Grammar School; General Sir John Monash 2011 Scholarships

On Wednesday 16 March 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, in recognition of the 30,000th school student to visit Government House since September 2008, met with students from Toowoomba Grammar School.

Afterwards, the Governor-General hosted the General Sir John Monash 2011 Scholarships and presented the scholarships.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, received Chief Executive Officer of Open Family Australia, Dr Emma Cassar.

Denmark High School student Miss Brianna Whitlock; Special Co-ordinator to the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands; Year of the Farmer 2012

On Tuesday 15 March 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Prime Minister of Australia, the Honourable Julia Gillard MP.

Earlier, the Governor-General received Denmark High School student Miss Brianna Whitlock, accompanied by Ms Linda Whitlock.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Special Co-ordinator to the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands, Mr Nicholas Coppel.

Commonwealth Day Service

On Monday 14 March 2011, at the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, Parkes, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended a Commonwealth Day Service, at which the Governor-General read the Commonwealth Day message from Her Majesty The Queen.
