On Friday 11 March 2011, at Bond University, Gold Coast, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chancellor, Dr Helen Nugent AO, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General opened the Legal Skills Centre extension.

In the afternoon, at Griffith University, Meadowbrook, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chancellor, Ms Leneen Forde AC, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General launched the Griffith University Council of Elders.

Federal Executive Council; Gender Institute

On Thursday 10 March 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron, received the Chairman-elect of the Australian Veterans Children Assistance Trust, Vice Admiral Russ Shalders AO CSC RAN (Retd).

In the evening, at the Australian National University, Canberra, the Governor-General, as guest of Professor Hilary Charlesworth AM from the Centre for International Governance and Justice Regulatory Institutions, launched the Gender Institute.

On Tuesday 8 March 2011, at the Kamberra Wine Company, Lyneham, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as guest of the Executive Director of the Canberra Young Women’s Christian Association, Ms Rebecca Vassarotti, attended the ACT Women’s Services Network International Women’s Day Breakfast.

Advance Asia Pacific Women's Leadership Summit 2011; Quentin Bryce Doctoral Scholarships; Australian Brandenburg Orchestra

On Sunday 6 March 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception for participants of the Advance Asia Pacific Women’s Leadership Summit 2011.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception for recipients of the Quentin Bryce Doctoral Scholarships from the University of Technology Sydney.

Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a musical evening for the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, at which the Governor-General launched the Brandenburg Foundation.

Prime Minister of Malaysia

On Thursday 3 March 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Mayor of Barcoo Shire Council, Councillor Bruce Scott.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Chief Scientist of Australia, Professor Penny Sackett.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron of Peer Support Australia, received General Manager, Mr Sharon Austin, and Education Manager, Ms Sharlene Chadwick.
