Afterwards, in Toorak, Victoria, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE met with former Governor-General, the Right Honourable Sir Zelman Cowen AK GCMG GCVO QC, and Lady Cowen.

Leukaemia Foundation National Research Program Grant Recipients; 10th anniversary of the International Year of the Volunteer

On Monday 14 February 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, the Right Reverend David Jones and Mrs Ruth Jones.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Sex Discrimination Commissioner and Commissioner Responsible for Age Discrimination, Ms Elizabeth Broderick.

Later, the Governor-General as Patron of the Leukaemia Foundation, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted an afternoon tea for the announcement of the National Research Program Grant Recipients.

On Friday 11 February 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Managing Director of the Australian School of Performing Arts, Ms Nichole Muir.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Professor of Epidemiology at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine, Oxford University, Professor Valerie Beral AC DBE.

Later, the Governor-General received the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of New South Wales, Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla.

On Thursday 10 February 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received National Health and Medical Research Council Principal Research Fellow at Westmead Millennium Institute, Dr Christine Clarke.

Later, at the Freehills Office, Sydney, the Governor-General attended the St Francis Social Services Presentation Ceremony and presented the 2011 Freehills Education Scholarships.

Federal Executive Council; 15th Anniversary of the Rural Health Education Foundation; Special Olympics Australia

On Wednesday 9 February 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted an afternoon tea to mark the 15th Anniversary of the Rural Health Education Foundation.

A service to remember the 2009 Victorian bushfires

On Sunday 5 February 2011, at Federation Square, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a service to remember the 2009 Victorian bushfires.

Earlier, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia by the Head of State of the Kingdom of Tonga, His Majesty King George Tupou V, by Colonel Michael Miller RFD ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
