Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children's Renwick Centre; Reception for Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS)

On Tuesday 30 November 2010, at North Rocks, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO opened the new Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children’s Renwick Centre in recognition of the Institute’s 150th anniversary.

Later, at the Museum of Sydney, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE attended a ceremony at which the Administrator launched the book ‘Admiral Arthur Phillip – The Man’ by Lyn Fergusson.

Children's Christmas Party; Official Visit to Zurich, Switzerland

On Monday 29 November 2010, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a Children’s Christmas Party.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce departed Australia on an Official Visit to Switzerland and Singapore.

Earlier, in Sydney, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.

Australian String Quartet

On Sunday 28 November 2010, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a musical evening to mark the 25th anniversary of the Australian String Quartet.

Earlier, at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney, the Governor-General was represented at the Mass of Installation of General Peter Cosgrove AC MC (Retd) as the Chancellor of Australian Catholic University, by Colonel Michael Miller RFD ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Young Women's Christian Association

On Friday 26 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Patron, received the President of the Young Women’s Christian Association, Ms Natasha Murphy; Executive Director, Ms Rebecca Vassarotti; Ms Ruth Pitt; Ms Rachel Atkinson; Ms Jude Berger; Ms Liz McAllister; Ms Erica Lewis; Ms Cathi Moore; Ms Marion Reilly; Ms Jacq Burridge; Ms Verity Blackman; and Ms Shernael Teaurima.

Credentials Ceremonies and Reception

On Thursday 25 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Mr M’Hamed Ezzine Chelaïfa, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Mohamed Lamine Lourimi (Counsellor) and Mr Nizar Hammedi (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Leïla Chelaïfa.

Federal Executive Council; 2010 Australian Engineering Excellence Awards

On Wednesday 24 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the evening, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Institution of Engineers Australia 2010 Australian Engineering Excellence Awards, at which the Governor-General, as Patron, delivered an address.

Children's Christmas Party; National Disability Awards

On Tuesday 23 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the High Commissioner for Canada, His Excellency Mr Michael Small.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a Children’s Christmas Party.

In the evening, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General delivered an address at the National Disability Awards Gala Dinner and presented the Young Disability Challenge Award.

27th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine; Legacy Widows; World Harmony Running Team; ???Thanks?? Exhibition

On Monday 22 November 2010, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC opened the 27th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received from the Eastern States Aboriginal Languages Group, Ms Faith Baisden, Mr Kevin Lowe, Mr Daryn McKenny, Mr Geoff Anderson, Mr Paul Paton, Mr Bruce Pascoe, Ms Bridget Priman, and Ms Melinda Holden.

Visit to Ilfracombe

On Sunday 21 November 2010, at Ilfracombe, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE visited the Ilfracombe Museum; the site of the Ilfracombe wool scour; and hosted a community morning tea at the Wellshot Hotel.
