Governor-General's Indigenous Student Teacher Scholarship

On Monday 9 August 2010, at the Stamford Plaza, Brisbane, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the President of Youth Without Borders, Ms Yassmin Abdel-Magied.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, in recognition of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous People, hosted a presentation ceremony and afternoon tea for recipients of the Governor-General’s Indigenous Student Teacher Scholarships.

Toowoomba Languages and Cultures Festival; Eastwood Early Education Centre; Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival

On Sunday 8 August 2010, at Queens Park, Toowoomba, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the President of the Toowoomba International Multicultural Society, Ms Gitie House, attended the Toowoomba Languages and Cultures Festival, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.

Afterwards, at the Eastwood Early Education Centre, Toowoomba, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Director, Ms Katy Mason, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the centre.

Australian Women Lawyers Conference; Youngcare dinner

On Saturday 7 August 2010, at the Stamford Plaza, Brisbane, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC attended the Australian Women Lawyers’ Conference and officially launched the book ‘Women and the Law in Australia’.

In the evening, at Montrachet Restaurant, Brisbane, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chair, Mr David Conry, attended a Youngcare supporters’ dinner.

Spinal Injuries Association; The Royal Humane Society of Australasia's 2009 Clarke Gold Medal; Cabanda Care

On Friday 6 August 2010, at Woolloongabba, Brisbane, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC visited the Spinal Injuries Association in recognition of their 50th anniversary.

Afterwards, at the Victoria Barracks Club, Brisbane, the Governor-General, as Senior Patron, presented The Royal Humane Society of Australasia’s 2009 Clarke Gold Medal to Mr Syb Mundy.

In the afternoon, at Rosewood, Ipswich, the Governor-General officially opened a high care facility wing at Cabanda Care.

HeartKids 2010 ???Cuppa for Kids' Morning tea; ???Valentino, Retrospective: Past/Present/Future' exhibition; Dinner hosted by Mr Philip Bacon AM

On Thursday 5 August 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a morning tea to officially launch HeartKids 2010 ‘Cuppa for HeartKids’ campaign.

Later, at the Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Director, Mr Tony Ellwood, attended the ‘Valentino, Retrospective: Past/Present/Future’ exhibition.

In the evening, at West End, Brisbane, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a dinner hosted in their honour by Mr Philip Bacon AM.

Call by the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom; Gallery of Australian Design ???Design in Media' show

On Wednesday 4 August 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Baroness Valerie Amos.

Afterwards, at the Gallery of Australian Design, Canberra, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron, attended the ‘Design Media in Australia’ show.

Morning tea for Defence families; Dinner in honour of Presenter of Radio National's Science Show, Mr Robyn Williams

On Tuesday 3 August 2010, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Commander-in-Chief, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a morning tea for Defence families.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Congregational Leader of the Sisters of St Joseph, Sister Anne Derwin; Secretary General of the Sisters of St Joseph, Sister Sheila McCreanor; Postulator of the Cause of Blessed Mary MacKillop, Sister Maria Casey; and Executive Officers of Mary MacKillop Canonisation, Sister Judith Sippel and Sister Mary Mercer.

Opening of St Peter's Residential Aged Care; International Women's Development Agency Reception

On Monday 2 August 2010, at Lane Cove North, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened St Peter’s Residential Aged Care.

Afterwards, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General received the Chief Executive of Hammond Care, Dr Stephen Judd OAM.

Later, the Governor-General received Mrs Gail O’Brien and Ms Juliette O’Brien.
