On Monday 8 August 2011, at Karratha, Western Australia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of Executive Vice President Commercial and General Counsel, Mr Rob Cole, and Executive Vice President Pluto Liquid Natural Gas Project, Mr Lucio Della-Martina, visited the Woodside Energy North West Shelf Karratha Gas Plant.

On Sunday 7 August 2011, at Newman, Western Australia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Vice President of External Affairs for BHP Billiton, Mr Ian Fletcher, visited Mount Whaleback Mine.

On Saturday 6 August 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a lunch for the Ambassador of the United States of America, His Excellency Mr Jeffrey Bleich and Mrs Rebecca Bleich. In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a reception for the Australian Ambassador-designate to the People’s Republic of China, Ms Frances Adamson.

On Monday 1 August 2011, at CarriageWorks, Chippendale, New South Wales, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO attended the Sydney Chamber Opera’s production of Leoš Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen.

On Sunday 31 July 2011, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE departed Australia on a State Visit to the Kingdom of Tonga.
