Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron, received the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mawson's Huts Foundation, Mr David Jensen AM, and the Director of Mawson's Huts Foundation, Mr Gregory Holland. Later, the Governor-General received Ms Anne Maria Nicholson.

In the evening, at the Sofitel, Melbourne, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the National Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion at which the Governor-General launched the World Health Organisation and UNICEF World Report on Child Injury Prevention.
On Saturday 25 July 2009, in Kinglake, Victoria, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Mayor of Murrindindi Shire Council, Councillor Lyn Gunter, met with the local community and attended the Kinglake vs Poweltown under 18s football match.
