On Saturday 12 September 2009 in Ilfracombe, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the Longreach Regional Council's Q150 Project - The Jacksons Collection Display.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited the old Ilfracombe wool scour site. Later, at the Wellshot Hotel, Ilfracombe, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a community lunch.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted an afternoon tea in recognition of the 25th anniversary of the Australian Girls' Choir. Later, the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief of The Order of Australia Association, and Mr Bryce, hosted a reception for the Order of Australia Association Foundation Scholarship Awardees.
