On Monday 31 August 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received wattle from school children in recognition of National Wattle Day.
On Sunday 30 August 2009, following the departure from Australia of the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE on a visit to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.
On Friday, 28 August 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a morning tea for participants of the ???Women: Gathering, Affirming, Celebrating' Conference.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Lebanon, Ms Jean Dunn. In the evening, at the Barrandi Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a reception at which the Governor-General officially opened the new Gutteridge, Haskins and Davey Office.
On Thursday 27 August 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Ambassador-designate to the United Arab Emirates, Mr Doug Trappett.
On Wednesday 26 August 2009, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Patron-in-Chief, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a Board meeting for the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal at which the Governor-General launched the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal 2008-2009 Community Report.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Chairman of Home Hospice, Ms Jocelyn Murphy AM. In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception for their NSW based patronages.

On Friday 21 August 2009, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted an Investiture Ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, presented the insignia of the late Professor Christopher O'Brien AO as an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia to Mrs Gail O'Brien.
