On Sunday 30 March 2008, at the National Motor Museum, Birdwood, South Australia, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially unveiled the first of three busts of Mr E. G. ???Tom' Kruse MBE. Afterwards, as guests of the Director, Mr Kym Hulme, Their Excellencies toured the Museum.

On Friday 28 March 2008, at Sydney City, the Governor-General His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as a guest of the Chairman of Energy Australia, Mr John Conde AO and the Manager Engineering Development, Mr Phil McKee, toured the Sydney Electricity Tunnel.

On Thursday 27 March 2008 at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at Circular Quay, Sydney, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a luncheon for Can Assist: Cancer Assistance Network, at which the Governor-General delivered the keynote address. In the evening, at Admiralty House, Their Excellencies hosted a reception for Vision Australia.

On Wednesday 26 March 2008 at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush Bay NSW, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of the Royal Agricultural Society, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the 2008 Royal Easter Show.

On Tuesday 25 March 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Prime Minister, the Honourable Kevin Rudd MP.

In the evening, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a reception for Essere (To Be).

On Thursday 20 March 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a reception for the Outdoor Education Group.

On Wednesday 19 March 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, received the recipient of an ANZAC Scholarship sponsored by the Returned and Services League, Denmark WA, Ms Kaysanne Knuckey, accompanied by Mrs Myrtle McCain.

On Tuesday 18 March 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, received the Australian Ambassador-designate to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mr Martin Quinn.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a reception for delegates attending the Carbine Club 2008 International Congress.

On Friday 14 March 2008, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen, by Commander Michael Hickey, RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
