On Thursday 30 October 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Mr Sven-Olaf Petersson, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Kamilla Lindstrom (Counsellor), Mr Hans Pechan (First Secretary) and Ms Jane Viol (First Secretary), Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden. The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Anita Petersson.

On Wednesday 29 October 2008, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, laid a bouquet of flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, after which the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Director of the Australian War Memorial, Major General Steve Gower AO (Retd), toured the World War I exhibition.

On Tuesday 28 October 2008, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Melbourne, Victoria, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, officially opened the Serious Women's Business Conference.

On Monday 27 October 2008, at the Westin Hotel, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the 2008 Sydney Pink Ribbon Breakfast.

On Saturday 25 October 2008, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the King of Tonga, His Majesty King George Tupou V, accompanied by the High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Tonga, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Tupouto'a Lavaka and Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess Nanasipau'u Tuku'aho.

On Friday 24 October 2008, at the Deniliquin Council Chambers, NSW, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended a round table discussion on adaptation to the drought and water management, with members of the Riverina and Murray Regional Organisation of Councils.

On Thursday 23 October 2008, in Echuca, Victoria, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Mayor of the Shire of Campaspe, Councillor John Elborough, attended a community lunch onboard PS Pevensey with representatives of the State Emergency Service; Country Fire Authority; St Johns Ambulance; Echuca Specialist School; the Echuca Indigenous Centre; and representatives of local primary and secondary schools.

On Wednesday 22 October 2008, in Shepparton, Victoria, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, in recognition of Universal Children's Day, visited the Arthur Dickman Childcare Centre where the Governor-General officially opened the Elizabeth Hildebrand Room.

On Tuesday 21 October 2008, at Burrumbuttock, NSW, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE toured the Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre and attended a morning tea with local farmers and councillors.

On Monday 20 October 2008, at Sydney Convention Centre, Daring Harbour, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC delivered the opening address at the 8th Biennial National Early Childhood Intervention Australia Conference.
