In the evening, at the Residence of France, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Ambassador of the French Republic, His Excellency Mr Christophe Penot, attended a dinner in honour of former Ambassador to the French Republic, Mr Stephen Brady AO CVO.

On Wednesday 25 April 2018, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Director, Australian War Memorial, the Honourable Dr Brendan Nelson AO, attended the 2018 ANZAC Day Dawn Service.

Afterwards, the Governor-General attended the 2018 ANZAC Day National Ceremony and reviewed the veterans march. Then, Their Excellencies laid a wreath at the Stone of Remembrance and a floral tribute in the Hall of Memory.

In the afternoon, at Broadwater Parklands, Southport, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Chairman, Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Corporation, the Honourable Peter Beattie AC, attended a thank you event for volunteers of the Commonwealth Games.

Afterwards, at Winton, Queensland, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mayor, Winton Shire Council, Councillor Gavin Baskett, officially opened the Waltzing Matilda Centre.

In the morning, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Chair, Australian Trucking Association, Mr Geoff Crouch, attended the opening breakfast for the Australian Trucking Association’s annual conference, Trucking Australia 2018.
