On Wednesday 18 April 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received from His Excellency Mr Baeksoon Lee, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Jin-weon Chae (Minister and Consul-General), Colonel Sungman Choi (Defence Attaché), and Mr Jinhae Kim (Counsellor). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Jeeyoon Chun.

On Tuesday 17 April 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with students from Santa Maria College, WA, and Perth College, WA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Monday 16 April 2018, at Torrensville, SA, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Maggie Dowling, visited Bedford Group to view the facilities and met with Special Olympic athlete employees.

Afterwards, at Titanium Security Arena, Findon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the 2018 Special Olympics Opening Ceremony.

Gold Coast, QLD

On Sunday 15 April 2018, at Broadwater Parklands, Southport, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Chef de Mission, Australian Commonwealth Games Team, Mr Steve Moneghetti AM, attended the women’s and men’s marathon where they congratulated Mr Kurt Fearnly after he won gold. Their Excellencies watched Ms Lisa Weightman and Ms Jessica Trengove win silver and bronze respectively, and Mr Michael Shelley win gold.

On Saturday 14 April 2018, at Robina Stadium, His Excellency General The Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of CEO, Rugby Australia, Ms Raelene Castle ONZM, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games men’s pool B rugby sevens match between Australia and Samoa.

Afterwards, at Currumbin Beachfront, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Vice President, Australian Commonwealth Games Association, Mr Mike Victor OAM, attended the final of the women’s road cycling and watched Ms Chloe Hosking win gold.

On Friday 13 April 2018, at Optus Aquatic Centre, Southport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove as guests of President, Australian Commonwealth Games Association, Mr Sam Coffa AM, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games women's 1m springboard diving preliminary final and men's synchronised 10m platform diving final. Afterwards, Lady Cosgrove participated in the men's synchronised 10m platform diving final victory ceremony.

On Thursday 12 April 2018, at Nerang Mountain Bike Trails, Queensland, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of Mr Mike Victor, Vice President, Commonwealth Games Australia, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games mountain biking finals, at which the Governor-General presented medals at the men’s cross country mountain bike victory ceremony.

On Tuesday 10 April 2018, at Darwin International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) was represented by Mr Mark Fraser LVO OAM, Official Secretary to the Governor-General, for the departure from Australia of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.

Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Group Captain Amanda Dines ADC for the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency Baron Divavesi Waqa and Lady Louisa Waqa.
