On Tuesday 18 July 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received from His Excellency Mr Cheikh Niang, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as the Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an investiture ceremony at which the Governor-General invested the Right Honourable Sir John Key AC GNZM with the insignia of the Honorary Companion of the Order of Australia.

On Monday 17 July 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the High Commissioner-designate to the Republic of Mauritius, Ms Jenny Dee.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Esperance Anglican Community School, WA; Calvary Christian College, QLD; Northampton District High School, WA; and Roma State College, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Friday 14 July 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Montville State School, QLD; St Augustine’s School, QLD; St Paul’s Anglican School, QLD; and Santa Maria College, WA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Thursday 13 July 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Turkey, Mr Marc Innes-Brown PSM.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a dinner for members of the Molonglo Cricket Club.

On Wednesday 12 July 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Nambour Christian College, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Monday 10 July 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Mount Isa School of the Air, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Saturday 8 July 2017, at SolarHub Stadium, Lyneham, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Netball Australia 2017 Indigenous High Performance Camp Community Netball Clinic.

On Friday 7 July 2017, at the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap, Alice Springs, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Chief of the Facility, viewed the facilities and met with staff. This year, 2017, marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the facility.

In the afternoon, at Blatherskite Park, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Central Australian Show Society, Mrs Rosie Gibbins, officially opened the Alice Springs Show.

On Thursday 6 July 2017, at the Alice Springs Civic Centre, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest speaker, and Lady Cosgrove, attended a NAIDOC Community Day event.

Afterwards, at the Alice Springs Women’s Shelter, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Dianne Gipey, viewed the facilities, and met with staff and volunteers.
