On Tuesday 5 September 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) launched the Youth Off The Streets semi-trailer, which will support disadvantaged young people in remote and regional communities.

Afterwards, at Sofitel Brisbane Central Hotel, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron, opened the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners’ 12th National Conference.

Later, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General participated in a video call from Kelmscott Senior High School, WA.

Canberra, ACT

On Monday 4 September 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with students from St Joseph’s Primary School, QLD; and All Souls St Gabriel School, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

Brisbane, QLD; Surfers Paradise, QLD

On Sunday 3 September 2017, at Congregational Christian Church of Samoa, Willawong, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Senior Elder, Reverend Tauaaga Mataafa, addressed the congregation and presented a photo of the Former Head of State of the Independent State of Samoa, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi and Her Highness Masiofo Filifilia Tamasese from a recent visit to the Independent State of Samoa.

Birdsville, QLD

On Saturday 2 September 2017, at Birdsville Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove were welcomed by Board Member of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Honourable Bruce Scott, and Mrs Joan Scott; and the Mayor of the Diamantina Shire Council, Councillor Geoff Morton, and Mrs Beverley Morton.

Afterwards, at the Birdsville Hotel, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Manager, Mr Ben Fullagar, viewed the facilities and met with staff and patrons.

Bourke, NSW

On Friday 1 September 2017, at Bourke Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove were welcomed by the Mayor of the Bourke Shire Council, Councillor Barry Hollman.

Afterwards, at Bourke District Hospital, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive, Western NSW Local Health District, Mr Scott McLachlan, viewed the facilities and met with staff and patients.

On Thursday 31 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove hosted an afternoon tea to launch the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) National Child Protection Week 2017.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Hawthorndene Primary School, SA; John Calvin School, WA; Curramulka Public School, SA; and St Peters Lutheran College, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Wednesday 30 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an afternoon tea for the R U OK? Conversation Convoy, where the Governor-General participated in a carpool conversation.

Canberra, ACT

On Tuesday 29 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea for One Young World’s (OYW) Australian delegates, prior to their departure to Columbia for the annual OYW summit.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an award ceremony for the Constitution Education Fund Australia, at which the Governor-General presented the 2016 Governor-General’s Prize.

Canberra, ACT

On Monday 28 August 2017, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the national launch of Legacy Week.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, received a briefing by the Military History Section of the Australian War Memorial.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the French Republic, Mr Brendan Berne.

On Sunday 27 August 2017, at Always Means Fun Bowling Centre, Tuggeranong, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Life Member, Australian Tenpin Bowling Senior Organisation ACT, Mr Ian Swan, opened the 25th Interstate Tenpin Bowling Championship.

Afterwards, at Commonwealth Park, Canberra, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of President, Parkinson’s ACT, Mr John Sheldick, participated in the Parkinson’s ACT ‘A Walk in the Park’.
