On Saturday 8 July 2017, at SolarHub Stadium, Lyneham, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Netball Australia 2017 Indigenous High Performance Camp Community Netball Clinic.

On Friday 7 July 2017, at the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap, Alice Springs, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Chief of the Facility, viewed the facilities and met with staff. This year, 2017, marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the facility.

In the afternoon, at Blatherskite Park, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Central Australian Show Society, Mrs Rosie Gibbins, officially opened the Alice Springs Show.

Afterwards, at the Alice Springs Women’s Shelter, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Dianne Gipey, viewed the facilities, and met with staff and volunteers.

On Sunday 2 July 2017, in Apia, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), attended a breakfast with the Prime Minister of the Independent State of Samoa, the Honourable Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi MP.

Afterwards, at Mulivai Cathedral, Apia, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Head of State of the Independent State of Samoa, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi and Her Highness Masiofo Filifilia Tamasese, attended a Church service.

On Saturday 1 July 2017, at Tuanaimato sports fields, Samoa, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of General Manager Samoa International Cricket, Sala Stella Vaea, attended a children’s cricket match as part of the Australian aid funded Super Kidz Super Hitz program and faced the first ball.

Afterwards, in Aele Fou, Samoa, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Minister for Education, Sports and Culture, the Honourable Loau Keneti Sio, officially opened an Australian aid funded pre-school.

Honiara, Solomon Islands; Apia, Samoa

On Friday 30 June 2017, at Mercy School, Honiara, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, Dr Franco Rodie, officially opened new classrooms and met with staff and students.

In the afternoon, at Faleolo International Airport, Samoa, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were welcomed to the Independent State of Samoa by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Independent State of Samoa, the Honourable Fiame Naomi Mata'afa MP.
