Afterwards, at Chapultepec Park, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a ceremony at the Niños Heroés monument, at which the Governor-General laid a wreath.

On Sunday 31 July 2016, in Texcoco, Mexico, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Deputy Director-General, Research and Partnerships, Dr Marianne Banziger, visited the Australian funded International Centre for Research and Improvement of Wheat and Corn in recognition of its 50th anniversary.
On Saturday 30 July 2016, at Benito Juárez International Airport, Mexico City, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended a welcome ceremony at the commencement of a State Visit to the United Mexican States.
