On Friday 30 June 2017, at Mercy School, Honiara, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, Dr Franco Rodie, officially opened new classrooms and met with staff and students.

In the afternoon, at Faleolo International Airport, Samoa, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were welcomed to the Independent State of Samoa by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Independent State of Samoa, the Honourable Fiame Naomi Mata'afa MP.

On Thursday 29 June 2017, at Government House, Honiara, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, met with the Governor-General of Solomon Islands, His Excellency Sir Frank Kabui GSMG CSI OBE and Her Excellency Lady Kabui.

Afterwards, at the Australian High Commissioner’s Residence, Honiara, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Australian High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, His Excellency Mr Roderick Brazier, attended a reception with staff working in Solomon Islands.

On Wednesday 28 June 2017, following the departure of the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) from Australia on an Official Visit to Solomon Islands and the Independent State of Samoa, the proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of Australia was signed by the Governor of South Australia, His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC.

On Tuesday 27 June 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the morning, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Mirza Hajric, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Momo Sevarika (Counsellor) and Mr Edin Omerika (Secretary).

On Monday 26 June 2017, at Duntroon House, Duntroon, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest speaker, and Lady Cosgrove attended the 2017 General’s Dinner.

Earlier, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General met with students from Redeemer Baptist School, NSW; Rehoboth Christian College, WA; and St Andrew’s School, SA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Sunday 25 June 2017, at Congregational Christian Church of Samoa, Willawong, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove as guests of Reverend Elder Tauaaga Mataafa, attended a Samoan Church service and met with members of the Australian-Samoan community.

On Saturday 24 June 2017, at 4RPH radio station, Spring Hill, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove viewed the facilities and met with staff, following which the Governor-General broadcasted ‘live-to-air’ content.

In the afternoon, at Suncorp stadium, Milton, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as Guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Australian Rugby Union, Mr Bill Pulver, attended the Wallabies v Italy match.

On Friday 23 June 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received a video call from Barmera Primary School, SA, as part of their civics and citizenship class.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Rose Park Primary School, SA, and St Mary’s North Primary School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Thursday 22 June 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received the Prime Minister of Australia, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted an afternoon tea for the Leadership Ballarat and Western Region leaders’ forum 2017.

On Wednesday 21 June 2017, at Vanuatu National Parliament, Port Vila, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), following the passing of the President of the Republic of Vanuatu, the late Womtelo Reverend Baldwin Lonsdale, conveyed the condolences of the Government and people of Australia to the acting President of the Republic of Vanuatu, His Excellency the Honourable Esmon Saimon; and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu, the Honourable Charlot Salway and other members of the Republic of Vanuatu Executive and Government.
