On Tuesday 20 June 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the afternoon, following the departure of the Governor-General from Australia, the proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of Australia was signed by the Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC.

On Monday 19 June 2017, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest speaker, opened the Australian Local Government Association’s National General Assembly.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received the Ambassador of the Delegation of European Union, His Excellency Mr Sem Fabrizi and Mrs Rebecca Fabrizi.

On Saturday 17 June 2017, in Cloncurry, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Mayor of Cloncurry, Councillor Gregory Campbell, viewed the town of Cloncurry, including a junior soccer match.

Afterwards, at the Cloncurry District Showgrounds, the Governor-General, as guest of the President of the Cloncurry District Show Society, Mr Andrew Hacon, opened the Cloncurry District Show Pavilion.

On Friday 16 June 2017, at the Mount Isa Civic Centre, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Mayor of Mount Isa, Councillor Joyce McCulloch, attended a civic reception.

In the afternoon, at the Mount Isa School of the Air, the Governor-General, as guest of the Principal, Mr Tim Moes, viewed the facilities and was briefed on operations. The Governor-General then conducted a question and answer segment with students of the school aged between 6 and 12.

On Thursday 15 June 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General hosted a morning tea for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Graduates and Trainees.

In the afternoon, at Rydges Capital Hill, Canberra, the Governor-General conducted the official welcome at the National Council of Women of Australia Conference.

On Wednesday 14 June 2017, at Goverment House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Hornsby North Public School, NSW; All Saints College, WA; and St Patrick’s School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Tuesday 13 June 2017, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, officially launched the 2017 Men’s Health Week.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Saturday 10 June 2017, at Rond Terrace, Campbell, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief and Lady Cosgrove, attended the 2017 Trooping of the Queen’s Colour.

On Thursday 8 June 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received a video call from Tasman District School, TAS, as part of their civics and citizenship class.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from St Marks Anglican Community School, WA; Holy Family Catholic Primary School, NSW; and St Joseph’s Primary School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Wednesday 7 June 2017, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, received His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales KCVO.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted the 2018 Sydney Invictus Games launch.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception for the 2017 Invictus Games Squad, who will compete in Toronto, Canada, from 23 to 30 September 2017.
