On Wednesday 28 September 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Tshewang Chopel Dorji, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Dr Martin Parkinson PSM.

On Tuesday 27 September 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Emmaus Christian College, SA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Sunday 25 September 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove met with members of the 2016 Distinguished Gentlemans Ride in support of prostate cancer research and mens mental health.

On Saturday 24 September 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove met with members of the public during the Government House Open Day.

On Friday 23 September 2016, at Commonwealth Park, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove were presented with the ‘Dirk Hartog tulip’ by the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Her Excellency Mrs Erica Schouten, at Floriade 2016.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General met with students from Walford Anglican College, SA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Friday 16 September 2016, at Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS), Mildura, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Mr Keith Hampton, viewed the MDAS Health Services clinic, Family Services facilities and met with staff and volunteers.

Afterwards, at Murray River Salt, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the General Manager, Mr Leighton Schmidt, received an overview of operations, viewed the facilities and met with staff.

On Thursday 15 September 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

On Wednesday 14 September 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Ferncourt Public School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Federal Republic of Germany, Ms Lynette Wood.

Later, the Governor-General met with students from Merrimac State School, QLD, as as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Tuesday 13 September 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Westside Christian College, QLD; St Mary’s Primary School, QLD; Meadow Springs Primary School, WA; Concordia Lutheran College, QLD; Marymount Catholic Primary School, QLD; and St Joseph’s Primary School, QLD as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Monday 12 September 2016, at RAAF Base Amberley, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, attended a Meritorious Unit Citation Investiture Ceremony for Number 5 Flight (5FLT), at which the Governor-General delivered an address and issued the warrant to Commanding Officer, 5FLT, Wing Commander Matthew Bowers.
