The Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment Freedom of Entry parade to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the 5th Battalion.
On Thursday 5 November 2015, at the Darwin Civic Centre, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guests of the Lord Mayor of Darwin, Ms Katrina Fong Lim, attend a citizenship ceremony, at which the Governor-General was Presiding Officer.
Afterwards, in Darwin, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment Freedom of Entry parade to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the 5th Battalion.
On Wednesday 4 November 2015, at Char Restaurant, Darwin, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted to lunch, the Administrator of the Northern Territory, His Honour the Honourable John Hardy OAM and Mrs Marie Hardy.
In the evening, at the Royal Darwin Hospital Campus, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Professor Alan Cass and Mr Peter Plummer, attended the Menzies School of Health Research Dinner.
On Tuesday 3 November 2015, at Flemington Racecourse, Victoria, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Victoria Racing Club, Mr Michael Burn, attended the Melbourne Cup Day, at which the Governor-General presented the Melbourne Cup trophy to Mr Sandy McGregor, who received the trophy on behalf of the winning connections.

On Sunday 25 October 2015, at Twickenham, London, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, Australian Rugby Union, and Lady Cosgrove attended the 2015 Rugby World Cup Semi Final match between the Australian Wallabies and Argentinian Pumas.

On Monday 19 October 2015, following the departure from Australia of the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), the proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC.
