Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a ceremony at which the Governor-General administered the Oath of Office to the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Minister for Defence Personnel, the Honourable Dan Tehan MP.

On Thursday 28 July 2016, at Honolulu International Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove met with the Commander, US Pacific Command, Admiral Harry Harris (US Navy).

On Wednesday 27 July 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, His Excellency Dr Helmut Böck.

Earlier, at Farrer Goodwin Village, Lady Cosgrove met with the U3A Current Affairs Group and delivered an address.

On Tuesday 26 July 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the High Commissioner for New Zealand, His Excellency Mr Chris Seed.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from Ellenbrook and Beechboro Schools, WA as they undertook a tour of Government House, as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Sunday 24 July 2016, at Victoria Barracks, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove attended the 1st Commando Regiment’s 60th Anniversary Parade, at which the Governor-General was the Reviewing Officer.

On Friday 22 July 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland, His Excellency Mr Pasi Patokallio.

On Tuesday 19 July 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Instrument of Appointment and Oath of Office to the Prime Minister, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.

Afterwards, the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Later, the Governor-General issued the Instruments of Appointment of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to their respective offices.

On Thursday 14 July 2016, at the Champs Elysées, Paris, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the French Republic, His Excellency Mr Franҫois Hollande, led Australia’s representation at the Bastille Day (French National Day) parade, at which Australia was selected to be the ‘Country of Honour’.

On Wednesday 13 July 2016, at the Hotel InterContinental Paris Le Grand, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove received the Australian Defence Attaché (Commemorations), Colonel Scott Clingan for a Bastille Day briefing.

In the evening, at the Hôtel de Brienne, Paris, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the French Minister of Defence, Mr Jean-Yves Le Drian, attended a reception.

On Tuesday 12 July 2016, in Paris, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Australian Ambassador to France, His Excellency Mr Stephen Brady AO CVO and Mr Peter Stephens, attended a dinner at the Australian Ambassador’s residence.
