At the Kununurra depot of the Australian Army’s North-West Mobile Force (NORFORCE), the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with Kimberley Squadron members, as guests of the Officer Commanding, Kimberley Squadron, Major Matt Rose.

At Nitmiluk Oval, Katherine, as guests of the Regional Manager AFL-NT, Mr Denis Coburn, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the Beswick Bears v Tindal Magpies match.

At the Kalano Flexible Aged Care Centre, Katherine, as guests of the Coordinator, Australian Red Cross, Mrs Sue Pszkit, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Australian Red Cross, and Lady Cosgrove visited residents and staff, in recognition of the centenary of the Australian Red Cross.

As guests of the traditional owners, the Jawoyn people, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove visited Nitmiluk National Park, Katherine.

On Saturday 21 June 2014, at Nitmiluk National Park, Northern Territory, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chair of the Jawoyn Association Aboriginal Corporation, Ms Lisa Mumbin, and the Chair of Nitmiluk Tours, Ms Jane Runyu, met with Jawoyn Elders and Park Rangers during a visit to Nitmiluk Gorge.

At the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Cultural Centre, Katherine, as guests of the Mayor, Alderman Fay Miller, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a community reception.

At Flinders Street Medical School, the Katherine campus of the Northern Territory Remote Clinical School, as guests of the Manager, Flinders Northern Territory Medical Program, Ms Monica Barolits-McCabe, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with medical and social work students and teaching staff.

At Top Didj Cultural Experience, Katherine, as guests of Jawoyn elder and resident Aboriginal artist, Mr Manuel Pamkal, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove experienced cultural activities including fire lighting and spear throwing, and viewed Indigenous paintings.

At Katherine High School, as guests of Mr Gerard Neesham OAM, CEO, Clontarf Foundation, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove met with students and teachers, and viewed Clontarf Foundation programs, which aim to improve the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal men.

At the Kalano Community Market Gardens, Katherine, as guests of the President, Kalano Community Association, Mr Ian Woods, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove visited one of three community market gardens, which employs 25 Katherine locals and supplies tomatoes and corn to the local supermarket.
