On Monday 26 January 2015, at the Australian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received a briefing by the Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Mr Neil Hawkins.

Afterwards, the Governor-General attended a lunch hosted in his honour by the Australian Ambassador with Saudi business representatives and members of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia.

In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Governor-General, pictured with the Governors-General of Canada and New Zealand, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston and Lieutenant General the Right Honourable Sir Jerry Mateparae, respectively, conveyed the condolences of the government and people of Australia to the Royal Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following the death of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

On Sunday 25 January 2015, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), delivered the first key address in a tribute to the centenary of ANZAC at the Australia Celebrates event.

Afterwards, following the departure from Australia of the Governor-General, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of Victoria, His Excellency the Honourable Alex Chernov AC QC.

On Saturday 24 January 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a reception in honour of the 2015 Australian of the Year Award Finalists.

At Government House, Canberra, ACT, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception in honour of the 2015 Australian of the Year Award Finalists.

On Wednesday 21 January 2015, at Melbourne International Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), was represented at the arrival in Australia of the Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency Lieutenant General the Right Honourable Sir Jeremiah Mateparae GNZM QSO, by Brigadier Michael Annett CSC ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Saturday 17 January 2015, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception for the Engineering Aid Australia Indigenous Summer School students.

Afterwards, at Admiralty House, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted to lunch the Honourable Bob Hawke AC and Ms Blanche D’Alpuget.

On Friday 16 January 2015, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

On Tuesday 13 January 2015, at Stadium Australia, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Asian Football Confederation, His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and Chairman of the AFC Asian Cup 2015 Local Organising Committee, Mr Frank Lowy AC, attended the AFC Asian Cup, Australia v Oman match.

On Monday 12 January 2015, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove hosted a dinner for the Australian Ambassador to the Holy See, Mr John McCarthy QC and Mrs Christine McCarthy. Guests included: Professor Greg Craven and Mrs Anne Craven; Mr Charles Curran AC and Mrs Eva Curran; Mr Gerard McCarthy and Ms Justine Chambers; and The Reverend Father James McCarthy.
