Visit to Ti Tree and Utopia

On Tuesday 20 August 2013, in Ti Tree, Northern Territory, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Manager, Ms Ruth Turpie, met with staff at the Ti Tree Women’s Centre and Safe House.

Afterwards, at the Ti Tree Aged Care Centre, the Governor-General, as guest of the Manager, Ms Edna Snape, attended a morning tea and met with residents.

Later, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Cathryn Hutton, visited the Central Desert Shire Council Offices.

Governor-General visits Alice Springs

The Governor-General, as guest of the Northern Territory Working Women’s Centre Coordinator, Ms Rachael Uebergang, met with staff, clients and women leaders at the Alice Springs office.

Later, at the Alice Springs Town Council Chambers, the Governor-General attended a Civic Reception hosted in her honour by the Mayor of Alice Springs, His Worship Mayor Damien Ryan.

Visit to Darwin and Alice Springs

On Monday 19 August 2013, in Batchelor, Northern Territory, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Director, Mr Adrian Mitchell, met with staff and students at the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education.

Afterwards, in Alice Springs, the Governor-General, as guest of the Coordinator, Ms Rachael Uebergang, met with staff, clients and women leaders at the Alice Springs office of the Northern Territory Working Women’s Centre.

Visit to Darwin

On Sunday 18 August 2013, in Darwin, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Acting Dean, Reverend Julia Perry, attended a service at Christchurch Cathedral.

Afterwards, the Governor-General hosted a lunch for Darwin community members.

Governor-General visits Umbakumba and Groote Eylandt Ranger Program

The Governor-General visited the Sea Cucumber Processing Facility in Umbakumba, Groote Eylandt, as guest of the Business Manager, Mr Roger Holman, received a brief on the facility and met with staff.

Afterwards, at the Groote Eylandt Rangers Program, the Governor-General, as guest of the Manager, Mr Ian Kerr, met with Indigenous Rangers, viewed the facilities and met with University of Queensland students researching wildlife on Groote Eylandt.
