Afterwards, at the Winmalee Rural Fire Brigade, Blue Mountains, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a briefing by the Commissioner of the NSW Rural Fire Service, Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons AFSM, on the fire activity and later met with members of the NSW Rural Fire Service and volunteers.

On Thursday 24 October 2013, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, was represented at the transit through Australia by the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency the Honourable Anote Tong MP by Group Captain Sue McGready ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

In Chengdu, China, the Governor-General, as guest of the Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Mr Wang Yang, and the Governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, Mr Wei Hong, attended the opening of the West China International Fair International Cooperation Forum, met with Vice Premier Wang and gave an address.

On Wednesday 23 October 2013, in Chengdu, China, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Mr Wang Yang, and the Governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, Mr Wei Hong, attended the opening of the West China International Fair International Cooperation Forum and met with Vice Premier Wang and gave an address.

In Chengdu, China, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce, as guests of the Director of the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, visited the centre.

Afterwards, at the Jinjiang Hotel, the Governor-General attended a meeting with the Sichuan Province Party Secretary, Mr Wang Dongming.

On Tuesday 22 October 2013, in Chengdu, China, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Director of the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, visited the centre.

On Monday 21 October 2013, in Guilin, China, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Principal of the Seven Stars Kindergarten, Ms Jiang Xiaohong, met with children and staff.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Mayor of the Guilin Municipal People’s Government, Mr Huang Junhua, travelled along the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo.

At the BlueScope Steel factory, Xi’an, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce, as guests of the CEO of BlueScope Steel, Mr Paul O’Malley, viewed the new factory, which was then officially opened by the Governor-General.

Afterwards, at the Banyan Tree Lake Hotel, Guilin, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a meeting with the Governor of the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Mr Chen Wu.

On Sunday 20 October 2013, at the BlueScope Steel factory, Xi’an, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the CEO of BlueScope Steel, Mr Paul O’Malley, viewed the new factory, which was then officially opened by the Governor-General.
