At Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General issued the Instrument of Appointment and Oath of Office to the newly appointed Prime Minister, the Honourable Kevin Rudd MP.
Afterwards, the Governor-General issued the Instruments of Appointment and Affirmations of Office to the newly appointed Minister for Infrastructure and Transport and Minister for Regional Australia and Local Government, the Honourable Anthony Albanese MP; and Treasurer, the Honourable Mr Chris Bowen MP.
On Thursday 27 June 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Instrument of Appointment and Oath of Office to the newly appointed Prime Minister, the Honourable Kevin Rudd MP.
On Wednesday 26 June 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received from His Excellency Mr Nabil Al Saleh, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Reda Alnuzha (Counsellor) and Dr Abdulaziz Bin Taleb (Cultural Attaché). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Muneera Al Hammadi.
On Tuesday 25 June 2013, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended the State Memorial Service for the late Mrs Hazel Hawke AO.
On Monday 24 June 2013, at the University of Canberra, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron, attended the Canberra Urban and Regional Futures seminar ‘Planes, Trains and Regional Development.’
The Governor-General officially launched the commemorative coloured circulating $2 coin celebrating the 60th anniversary of the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra.

Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the Governor-General of the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui, by Brigadier Greg Bilton CSC ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
