Visit to the flood affected New South Wales towns of Moree and Wee Waa

On Tuesday 7 February 2012 at Moree, New South Wales, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Mayor of Moree Plains Shire Council, Councillor Katrina Humphries, inspected flood damage to local properties and infrastructure.

Afterwards, at the Max Centre, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received a briefing from the local SES controller and General Manager of the Moree Plains Shire Council on the impact of the floods and recovery plan.

Dinner for Senators and Members of the House of Representatives; President of Nauru

On Monday 6 February 2012, at Government House, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a dinner for Senators and Members of the House of Representatives.

Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Sprent Dabwido MP, by Colonel Dennis Scanlan CSM RFD ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

President of Nauru; President of Kiribati

On Saturday 4 February 2012 at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Sprent Dabwido MP, by Commander Paul Doble ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Afterwards, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the transit through Australia by the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency the Honourable Anote Tong MP, by Brigadier Christopher Hamilton ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Children's Medical Research Institute; The Shepherd Centre; Bronwyn Bancroft's Exhibition, 'Passion, Power, Politics'

On Thursday 2 February 2012, at the Children’s Hospital, Westmead, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Director, Professor Roger Reddel, viewed research activities and met with staff at the Children’s Medical Research Institute.

Afterwards, at The Shepherd Centre, Darlington, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jim Hungerford, received an overview of the centre’s support services and met with staff, children and families.
