Credential Ceremonies and Reception; Reception for the Puuya Foundation

On Tuesday 27 September 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Dr Christoph Müller, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Matthias Sonn (Minister) and Lieutenant Colonel Bernd Pfaffenbach (Defence Attaché).

Book Launch at the National Portrait Gallery - 'Pedder Dreaming: Olegas Truchanas and a Lost Tasmanian Wilderness'

On Saturday 17 September 2011, at the National Portrait Gallery, Parkes, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended an event at which the Governor-General officially launched Dr Natasha Cica’s book, ‘Pedder Dreaming: Olegas Truchanas and a Lost Tasmanian Wilderness’.

Call by Ambassador of the French Republic

On Thursday 15 September 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, received the Ambassador of the French Republic, His Excellency Mr Michel Filhol, and Mrs Catherine Filhol.

Earlier, at the Australian War Memorial, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron of the Royal Australian Air Force Association, attended the 2011 Annual Battle of Britain Commemorative Ceremony.

Federal Executive Council; AE1 Memorial Plaque Unveiling Ceremony

On Wednesday 14 September 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at the Royal Australian Navy Heritage Centre, Garden Island, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the President of AE1 Incorporated, Dr Michael White QC, attended a ceremony to commemorate the loss of AE1 on 14 September 1914, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, unveiled the AE1 Memorial Plaque, delivered an address and laid a wreath.
