Australian Defence Force Memorial Plantation Dedication; Fostering Executive Women Gala Dinner

On Monday 15 November 2010, at Campbelltown, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the dedication of the Australian Defence Force Memorial Plantation.

In the evening, at the Hilton Hotel, Brisbane, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Patron of Fostering Executive Women, Ms Ann Garms OAM, attended the Fostering Executive Women Gala Dinner, at which the Governor-General presented scholarship awards.

Australian Girls' Choir Concert

On Sunday 14 November 2010, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC hosted an afternoon tea for the Hall’s Creek members of the Australian Girls’ Choir.

Later, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception for volunteers and supporters of the Mary MacKillop Canonisation.

In the evening, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chair of the Australian School of Performing Arts Advisory Board, Mr Nigel Milan AM, attended the Australian Girls’ Choir Concert.

Ceremonial planting of a Lone Pine at the National Arboretum; Friends and Family of the First Australian Imperial Force Fromelles Retrospective; Official Centenary Celebration of the Australian Taxation Office

On Friday 12 November 2010, at the National Arboretum, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chief Minister of the ACT Legislative Assembly, Mr Jon Stanhope MLA, attended a ceremonial tree planting, at which the Governor-General planted a Lone Pine with members of the Returned and Services League.

The Children's Medical Research Institute; Australian Defence College

On Wednesday 10 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Chief Scout, received from Scouts Australia the Chief Commissioner, Mr Reg Williams RFD; the National Chief Executive, Mr Richard Miller; and the Chair of the National Executive Committee, Mr David Jones AM.

Afterwards, the Governor-General attended The Children’s Medical Research Institute lunch.

State Memorial Service for the late Dame Joan Sutherland OM AC DBE

On Tuesday 9 November 2010, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the State Memorial Service for the late Dame Joan Sutherland OM AC DBE.

Later, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Chief Scientist of Australia, Professor Penny Sackett, and the Executive Officer of the Office of the Chief Scientist, Mr Antonio Mozqueira.

Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre; The Grille Exhibition; Australian Institute of Company Directors (SA/NT) Dinner

On Monday 8 November 2010, at the University of South Australia, Adelaide, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as guest of the Executive Director, Ms Elizabeth Ho, visited the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre.

Afterwards, at Parliament House, Adelaide, the Governor-General, as guest of The Muriel Matters Society, viewed The Grille Exhibition.

Later, the Governor-General attended a lunch with the former Governor of South Australia, Ms Marjorie Jackson-Nelson AC CVO MBE.

ArtSound FM's Radiothon

On Thursday 4 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Director of the Harold Mitchell Foundation, Professor John Funder AO, and Mrs Val Funder.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Administrator of the Northern Territory, His Honour Mr Tom Pauling AO QC, and Mrs Tessa Pauling.

In the evening, at the ArtSound FM studio, Canberra, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron, attended the launch of ArtSound FM’s Radiothon.
