On Sunday 22 March 2009, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE received, and later hosted a dinner to mark the visit to Australia of, His Excellency Mr Li Changchun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

On Saturday 21 March 2009, at the Kazimva Community, Chongwe District, Zambia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Executive Director, Mr Christopher Manda, visited the HIV Technical Support Foundation project.

In the afternoon, in Lusaka, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited the AusAID assisted Shishemo Foundation, where they toured the facilities and viewed a concert performance.

On Friday 20 March 2009, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO received the Chief Executive Officer of the Melba Foundation, Ms Maria Vandamme.

On Thursday 19 March 2009, at Watters Gallery, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO attended a ceremony at which she opened the Dr John Plapp Exhibition.

On Wednesday 18 March 2009, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE received the Chairman of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Mr Sergey Mironov and accompanying delegation.

On Tuesday 17 March 2009, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE hosted a reception in support of The Song Company on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.

At the Australian High Commission, Port Louis, Mauritius, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE met with staff and representatives of the Australian Community in Mauritius.

On Saturday 14 March 2009, at The Rocks, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General as Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Defence Force presented the 2008 Gloucester Cup to the Commanding Officer of HMAS PARRAMATTA.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the recipient of the Denmark RSL Sub-Branch Scholarship, Miss Lily Wallis, accompanied by Mrs Vivian Wallis.

On Thursday 12 March 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received Baroness Caroline Cox FCRN and Dr Elmo Jacob.

On Wednesday 11 March 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC attended a ceremony to issue the Oath of Office to the newly appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Social Inclusion and the Parliamentary Secretary for the Voluntary Sector, Senator the Honourable Ursula Stephens.
