On Saturday 11 October 2008, in South Australia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, toured the Murray Mouth and Lower Lakes region. During the visit, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a morning tea at Goolwa, hosted in their honour by the Mayor of Alexandrina Council, Councillor Kym McHugh. Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a luncheon at Meningie, hosted in their honour by the Mayor of Coorong District Council, Councillor Roger Strother.

On Thursday 9 October 2008, at The Grand Motel in Mildura, Victoria, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received a municipality briefing by the Mayor of the Mildura Rural City Council, Councillor John Arnold and the Chief Executive Officer of the Mildura Rural City Council, Mr Phil Pearce.

On Thursday 2 October 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Mr Carlos Sanchez De Boado Y De La Valgoma, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Salvador Maspock (Minister-Counsellor), Mr Carlos Aragon (Counsellor) and Captain Eduardo Bernal (Defence Liaison Officer), Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain. The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Elena Torreguitar Delpech.
