On Friday 3 April 2009, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE arrived at Perth International Airport and were welcomed on their return by the Honourable Stephen Smith MP, Minister for Foreign Affairs. The Governor-General and Mr Bryce subsequently arrived in Canberra.

On Thursday 2 April 2009, in Broken Hill, New South Wales, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE attended a Civic Reception hosted in their honour at the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery. Later, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas, as Joint Patrons, attended a dinner in support of The Royal Flying Doctor Service (South East Section) at the Broken Earth Restaurant.

On Wednesday 1 April 2009, at the Sydney Trades Hall, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE attended the State Memorial Service for the late Mr Laurence Elwyn Short AO.

On Tuesday 31 March 2009, at the National Maritime Museum, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO officiated at the Housing NSW 2009 Youth Achievement Awards.

On Monday 30 March 2009, in Nairobi, Republic of Kenya, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE as guests of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olive Mugenda, visited Kenyatta University and attended a morning tea with prominent Kenyan women.

On Saturday 28 March 2009, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE departed the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on a State Visit to the Republic of Kenya.

On Friday 27 March 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

On Thursday 26 March 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO received from His Excellency Primo Alui Joelianto, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Samsu Rizal (Minister Counsellor), Mr Raudin (Minister Counsellor) and Air First Marshall Kuswantoro (Defence Attach?”) from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia. The Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE also received Mrs Susilowati Joelianto.

On Wednesday 25 March 2009, at the Sydney Opera House, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE attended the J??rn Utzon State Memorial Service.
